EVO engages New Haven and West Haven high school students in informal and formal learning opportunities including:
Students enrolled in EVOLUTIONS have the opportunity to gain paid work experience as science educators in the museum’s galleries. Through mentorship, training, and hands-on teaching, students learn to communicate scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
Participants develop skills in public speaking, teamwork, and professionalism while progressing through a structured system of projects, evaluations, and skill-based badges. Each weekend, these youth educators engage museum visitors through interactive carts and craft activities, making science more accessible, engaging, and meaningful for all ages. Workforce development at the Peabody Museum is supported by Citizens.
