The Yale Peabody Museum and its neighbors are delighted to honor Dr. King and his efforts to ensure environmental and social justice among all people. The weekend's activities will include world-class performances, a community open mic and poetry slam, and educational activities for visitors of all ages. Special Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. programming also includes the 11th Annual Youth Gathering, Professional Poetry Slam, and Children’s Storytelling and Activities at the New Haven Museum.

The Community Open Mic will take place in Kroon Hall on the 3rd floor on Monday, January 20, 2020 from 11:00 AM to Noon. Come early for the spoken word workshop with Activist Songbook to create a piece for the open mic!

 

Stay for the Professional Poetry Slam taking place on the 3rd floor of Kroon Hall on Monday, January 20, 2020 starting at 12:30 PM. Watch and listen to the wonderful stories that these poets will perform.
