Art Contest!
This year’s art contest is open to at all high school-aged young people in Connecticut.
The theme of the art contest is to honor the historical and living legacy of the civil rights movement and showcase our contemporary leaders. This is an opportunity to learn about and celebrate the often unknown or underrepresented names, faces, and works of the people who contributed to the civil rights movement. It could be someone whose actions, protest, words, or work inspires you; or you may even showcase current day freedom fighters in your community.
Using pencil, crayon, markers, colored pencils, inks, or watercolors; create a picture of the person you would like to honor. On the back of your paper write your name, the name of the person you chose, and a sentence or two about why they inspire you.
Please send in your registration form with your art piece. Extended deadline for art submissions is Friday, January 18, 2019.
