Dino December Saturdays

Saturdays, December 14, 21 and 28, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

For nearly a hundred years the Yale Peabody Museum’s dinosaurs have enthralled, inspired, and thrilled generations of visitors from New Haven and beyond. Now they’re on the move — and won’t be back until 2023! Join us in sending off our beloved friends as the Museum’s renovations begin.

Dino December kicks off with a very special free Community Day. Come witness the removal of the Brontosaurus’s skull—a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get up close and personal with the original specimen of the first Brontosaurus.   The day will feature dino-themed children’s activities, including a fossil dig and dinosaur crafts, and opportunities for children and adults to learn from Peabody collections staff.

On the remaining Saturdays in Dino December admission includes: dino-themed children’s craft and educational activities as well as opportunities for children and adults to learn from Peabody staff.

The Great Hall and Mammal Hall close on December 31, 2019. All other public galleries will remain open through June 30, 2020.

Please join us in bidding bon voyage to our dinosaur friends during this special farewell month!
