Family Day

A Celebration of the Babylonian New Year

Saturday, March 21 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

Join us for a fun family day and engage with the daily lives of ancient Mesopotamians in celebration of Akitu, the Babylonian New Year! Sample ancient recipes from a cooking demonstration, hear a 3,000-year-old ritual, and go on an artifact scavenger hunt. Craft activities include writing your name in cuneiform, rolling seals in clay, and coloring Assyrian reliefs. Curator-led activities and interpretation in the exhibition Ancient Mesopotamia Speaks will be available throughout the day.
