Paleo Worlds: Interpreting Prehistory Through Fossils

This new program addresses NGS standards of Biological Evolution and Diversity using a spectacular virtual 3-D model of the Great Hall and all it's exhibits and specimens.  Evidence will be presented so that students may analyze and interpret key characteristics for each specimen and determine how certain features can be useful in understanding the habitats of these prehistoric creatures.


3-LS4 Biological Evolution: Unity and Diversity

  • 3-LS4-1: Analyze and interpret data from fossils to provide evidence of the organisms and the environments in which they lived long ago.

MS-LS4 Biological Evolution: Unity and Diversity

  • MS-LS4-1: Analyze and interpret data for patterns in the fossil record that document the existence, diversity, extinction, and change of life forms throughout the history of life on Earth under the assumption that natural laws operate today as in the past.
