Museum Tours

Every year the Yale Peabody Museum provides educational opportunities for adults and students.

Whether visiting on your own or with a larger group, consider one of our highlights tours or a more focused educational program! All of our tours are led by experienced volunteer docents and are offered at no charge with regular museum admission.

Highlights Tours: From Dinosaurs to Egypt

Saturday: 12:30, 1:30

Sunday: 12:30, 1:30

Thursday: 2:30, 3:30

Tours are offered on a drop-in basis every Saturday, Sunday, and Thursday (September-June only). The Highlights tour meets in the Museum’s main lobby and moves through the exhibition halls, stopping at our most exciting and popular displays. Through this tour visitors will gain insight into the history and science behind many of our most specatcular specimens.

Adaptations Tours: Past and Present

Saturday: 2:30, 3:30

Sunday: 2:30, 3:30

First Thursday of the Month: 4:30, 5:30

Tours are offered on a drop-in basis every Saturday, Sunday, and First Thursdays of the Month (September-June only). These 30-minute tours focus on either the first floor or the third floor exhibits, depending on the docent's expertise, with particular attention to the types of adaptations animals in both the past and the present developed to survive in their environments.
