We are located in New Haven at 170 Whitney Avenue, at the corner of Sachem Street, one block north of Trumbull Street.
By Car: In New Haven, Connecticut, take Exit 3 off Interstate 91 (either north or southbound) onto the Trumbull Street connector, turn right at the second intersection onto Whitney Avenue (follow the posted signs to the Peabody Museum). The Museum sits on the corner of Whitney Avenue and Sachem Street. Metered street parking is available on Sachem Street, and a small visitor lot is located one block north of the Museum. Additional information about parking can be found below.
By Bus: The Yale Peabody Museum is on New Haven’s “J” bus route. For information contact CT Transit at 203.624.0151.
By Train: The Yale Peabody Museum is convenient to Amtrack, MTA Metro-North Railroad and Shore Line East passenger rail service in New Haven.

On weekdays LIMITED parking is available in the Yale Peabody Museum Visitors Parking Lot at the far south end of Yale Lot 22 (please note the signs inside the lot.) The entrance is accessible from Whitney Avenue one block north of the Museum opposite Humphrey Street. On entering go to the very end of the entrance drive and make a left; continue down to the end to the second yellow gate. The parking fees are payable at the Museum Admissions Desk.
Please be aware parking availability in our lot is very limited on weekdays. If the lot is full, metered street parking is available on adjacent streets.
On weekends and some holidays, parking in the Peabody lot, and in the adjacent Yale parking lots, is free and open to the public.

Due to the high volume of visitors during this week, finding available parking can be challenging. Some parking areas adjacent to the Peabody lot will be made available for use for Museum visitors, but space is still very limited. When arriving at the Peabody visitor lot this week (see directions above,) please follow the posted signs for additional parking options. If the parking areas are full, metered street parking may be available on nearby streets including Sachem Street, Prospect Street, and Hillhouse Avenue. See the above parking map for details.
