With an annual attendance of over 150,000 visitors and prime advertising space on our banner and kiosk along Whitney Avenue in front of the Museum (viewed by 8,500 travelers every day), sponsoring an event, program or exhibition at the Yale Peabody Museum is a low-cost, high-visibility marketing opportunity for New Haven, Connecticut, and New England corporations. Furthermore, sponsorship at the Peabody Museum is an opportunity to have a real, lasting impact on the lives of children and their families throughout our diverse region.

These 3 young dinosaur experts are competing in the final round of the Yale Peabody Museum’s Paleo-Knowledge Bowl, an annual oral competition in which school teams of 3 students (grades 4 to 6) answer questions about paleontology, dinosaurs in particular. Teams of students work together to earn points for correct answers, and teams with the highest number of points advance in the competition. The competition culminates in the Final Round in the Peabody Museum's Great Hall of Dinosaurs.

In 2004, 25 teams competed in the 2-day contest; the team of 4th grade students from Westover Magnet Elementary School in Stamford won the 2004 event, and the team of 6th grade students from Norton Elementary School in Cheshire came in second place.
