The Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History Joins Bank of America Museums on Us® Program

The program offers free museum access to bank cardholders at the Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History and 150 other cultural institutions across the U.S. on the first full weekend of each month

CITY – The Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History announced today its participation in the Bank of America Museums on Us® program, which provides Bank of America and Merrill Lynch cardholders’ free general admission to 150 of the nation’s finest arts, cultural and educational institutions during the first full weekend of every month.

To qualify for the Museums on Us program, Bank of America/Merrill Lynch customers simply present their credit or debit card and a valid photo ID to gain one free general admission* to any participating institution which is limited to the cardholder and excludes fundraising events, special exhibitions and ticketed shows (not to be combined with other offers).

“The Peabody’s collections tell the incredible story of our planet and its history, and of humanity’s place within it,” said Richard Kissel, director of public programs at the Yale Peabody Museum. “We are delighted to join Bank of America in this exciting program to reach a larger population and welcome them to experience the beauty of the natural world and our understanding of it.”

The Yale Peabody Museum is a family-friendly museum showcasing four-and-a-half-billion years of Earth history. On view in the Great Hall are the mounted Jurassic skeletons of Brontosaurus and Stegosaurus and the world’s largest dinosaur mural, Rudolph Zallinger’s The Age of Reptiles. Other permanent exhibits feature world-class animal habitat dioramas, Egyptian mummies, Connecticut birds, primates, Native American artifacts and prehistoric mammals. The Discovery Room with its live animals and touchable specimens lets kids experience the natural world first-hand.

The Museums on Us program, now in its 19th season, has experienced major growth in recent years due to increased demand, bringing the total geographic reach to 98 cities in 33 states across the country.

“We are proud to partner with the Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History to offer residents and visitors a chance to experience culture in the local community,” said Bill Tommins, Southern Connecticut market president, Bank of America. “Now in its19th season, we continue our commitment to supporting our non-profit partners and increasing access to diverse arts and cultural resources for our customers.”
