Join us for our 6th annual Teen Summit event celebrating the legacy of Dr. King. In this interactive workshop, teens from all over Connecticut will come together to showcase their talents in effort to promote social and environmental justice. Showcase on Social and Environmental Justice
Share your talent! Submissions in honor of Dr. King’s legacy of social and environmental justice are encouraged. Preferred formats include: oratory, spoken word, essay, or video. All submissions must be submitted to email@example.com by Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 5:00 pm See submission guidelines below.
All topics must be related to social or environmental justice.
Suggested topics: Ebola Crisis, Recent Court Rulings, LGBTQ Issues, Malala Yousafzai and the Education of Girls, Missing Nigerian Girls, US - Cuba Relations
5 minute maximum time length for all performances (oratory, spoken word, video)
Oratory & Spoken Word: Written version must be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than January 15th at 5:00 pm. Microphone and podium (optional) will be provided.
Video: E-mail videofile to email@example.com or upload to YouTube Teen Summit Channel no later than January 15th at 5:00 pm. Maximum length is 5 minutes. Top videos (as many as time permits) will be shown during the showcase.
Essay: E-mail essay to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than January 15th at 5:00 pm. Essay should be typed and double-spaced, with a 12-point, Times New Roman font. Suggested length is between 3-7 pages. Please submit essay in APA or MLA style with a reference page. If you need help formatting your essay, feel free to email Kai Perry before the deadline at the address above. Copies of best essays will be printed and shared at the event.
