Mastodons and Baby Dinosaurs Rule the Day!
Meet a walking, talking humongous beast at our sixth annual free admission day. It’s Jess the mastodon, on day leave from her regular digs at Hole in the Wall Theatre in New Britain. Jess will hold court from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm with an even more humongous beast, the Peabody’s 11,000-year-old Otisville Mastodon.
Take your picture with Jess and ask her about mastodons, impractical beasts and how childhood dreams really can come true, all subjects of the comedy at New Britain’s Hole in the Wall Theatre, “The Impracticality of Modern-Day Mastodons,” in which Jess is the star. The play in New Britain (www.hitw.org) runs through Saturday, August 23.
We will also be featuring Tiny Titans: Dinosaur Eggs and Babies. With only a week before it closes on August 31, you won’t want to miss this hands-on exhibit about dinosaur family life. See over 150 eggs, embryos, hatchlings and nests from both dinosaurs and modern day birds.
You’ll have a chance to win a door prize, see Roxi fox puppet shows at 11:00 am and Noon, and interact with our SciCarts throughout the exhibit halls.
