For the Love of Lions:

The Challenges of Conserving Africa's Big Cats

Laly Lichtenfeld, Ph.D.

Tuesday, April 18

5:30 pm

Visiting from Tanzania, Dr. Laly Lichtenfeld (’99 M.F.S., ’05 Ph.D.) of African People & Wildlife shares her passion for saving big cats. Interweaving her own story with scientific discoveries, Dr. Lichtenfeld brings us to the forefront of African big cat conservation and the challenges of conserving these wide-ranging species among a matrix of protected and human-dominated lands. People, she contends, lie at the heart of any long-term strategy for keeping these animals alive and wild.

Dr. Lichtenfeld is a 2016 Lowell Thomas Awardee for Open Space Conservation.
