Growing Forward: A New Vision for Food and Farming in America

Wednesday, October 3, 2012 from 12:30 to 2:00 pm

Free admission

Join Curt Ellis (Yale ’02), winner of the Heinz and Peabody Awards, for a multimedia exploration of the state and future of food and farming in America. Mixing film clips, insights and humor, Ellis will examine the economic, ethical and environmental realities of America's corn-fed food system, and will then show the hopeful solutions that are taking root among a generation of farmers, chefs, food entrepreneurs and public health leaders who are getting their hands in the dirt. As Ellis will show, food – that most fundamental building block for life and culture – may be our best hope for making sustainability and opportunity come to life across our society.
