Hugh Possingham is Chief Scientist at The Nature Conservancy, the world’s largest environmental non-governmental organization. Prior to his work at TNC, the Possingham lab developed landmark conservation planning software that informed the rezoning of the Great Barrier Reef and is currently used in over 150 countries to build the world’s marine and terrestrial land use plans. In this presentation, Hugh will discuss his experiences using science and math to influence conservation and land use policy in Australia.
