Richard Prum is an evolutionary ornithologist with broad interests in bird biology, and his research program has explored diverse topics including evolutionary relationships among birds, feather color and avian color vision, and the theropod dinosaur origin of birds. Prum's recent book, The Evolution of Beauty: How Darwin's Forgotten Theory of Mate Choice Shapes the Animal World - and Us, draws from his years contemplating aesthetic choice in birds to develop insights about the role of mate choice in the evolution of sexual beauty. Please join us for what will surely be a memorable presentation!
