What activities are included in a party?

You can mix and match your party activities by visiting the “Design Your Party” tab, or pick a themed party with pre-planned activities by visiting the “Pick a Standard Party” tab. Themes include paleontology (dinosaurs!), ancient Egypt, rocks & minerals, and space.

What add-on activities can I include in my party?

Let us take care of your goody bags! Also visit the “Deluxe Options” tab to see other add-on activities for your party, such as having your child crack a geode!

What age are Peabody parties good for?

All children are welcome at the Peabody! If you “Pick a Standard Party” we will provide age-appropriate themed activities for your party. If you “Design Your Party” you will get to choose from specific activities depending on your child’s age.

When are parties held?

Birthday parties are available Saturdays at 10:30a, 12:45p, and 3:00p and Sundays at 12:45p and 3:00p. Parties include exclusive use of a private room for 2 hours (1.5 hours for the party, and 15 minutes before and after for staff assisted set-up and clean-up). For example, for a 10:30a party, you may come at 10:15a for set-up, the party will run 10:30a-12:00p, and clean-up will occur 12:00-12:15p.

Can I come early to set up?

You may come 15 minutes before your scheduled time to set up. Staff members will be available to assist.

How do I reserve my party?

Click here to book your party date and activities. A $100.00 deposit is required to reserve your party date and time. Your deposit will be applied to your final party balance.

Can parents attend my child’s party?

We encourage parents to drop off their children, and then explore the museum, including the Discovery Room and SciCORPS-led activity carts  Party Lab capacity is 25 people, including children and parents.

Where do parents park and drop off their children?

Parents may park in the Peabody Museum lot at Whitney Ave. and Humphrey St. (parking is free on the weekends). They should bring their children into the museum and tell the front desk they are here for a party. The museum staff will direct them to the party room.

Can I bring party decorations?

Any table decorations are allowed. We cannot hang anything from the walls or ceiling.

***Balloons are not allowed in the Peabody Museum.

Can I bring my own food and cake?

You provide all food and beverages for your party. We recommend cupcakes (instead of a large birthday cake) as it is easier to distribute to guests, and leaves more time for party activities! If having food delivered, please arrange to have it here 45 minutes prior to the end of the party.

***You must order your pizza before coming to the Peabody at your scheduled party time. It usually takes about 1 hour for restaurants to fill orders.

Do you provide food and beverage supplies?

We do not provide refreshment supplies. Please bring any cups/plates/forks/napkins/etc. that you will need. We will provide table coverings for tables, but feel free to bring your own if you prefer.
