2013 National Medal for Museum and Library Service Finalist

The Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History is a FINALIST for the prestigious National Medal for Museum and Library Service, given each year by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). The National Medal is the nation’s highest honor conferred on museums and libraries for service to the community and celebrates institutions that make a difference for individuals, families, and communities.

We are absolutely thrilled about this honor! At this point, IMLS and the rest of the museum and library community need to hear from YOU about why the Yale Peabody Museum deserves this award. Please “share your story” about why you love the Peabody, or how the Museum has made a difference in your life. Just click on the National Medal button to the right and post your story on their Facebook wall. Be sure to mention the “Yale Peabody Museum” in your post, as there are 33 finalists. Thank you!
