The Yale Peabody Cryo Collection (YPCC) is a common facility shared by
the Peabody's divisions for preserving tissues and samples under
ultra-cold conditions (-20°, -80°, and (soon) -160°C). Additionally,
the YPCC accepts samples from research labs and special projects
associated with the museum, and is open to accepting donations from
other sources.
The YPCC collections are available
to responsible individuals at established institutions for scholarly
use. Requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by the curator and YPCC committee and, when appropriate, solicited external consultants. Loans and access to the collection can be arranged
through the Collections Manager.
